MARSH IN AUSTRALIA ACQUIRES RJ NEVILLE & ASSOCIATES
SYDNEY, 17 JULY 2009 - Insurance broker Marsh Pty Ltd today announced the acquisition of RJ Neville and Associates (RJN), a boutique insurance and risk management firm based in Brisbane. The acquisition, which is part of a broader growth strategy, will build the firm’s book of business in the Brisbane area and in the resources and small-to-medium business markets. The deal is effective as at 17 July 2009.
John Clayton, CEO of the Marsh business in the Pacific and Australia, said both companies will benefit from natural synergies.
“We are delighted by the quality of talent and the rich client relationships that RJN will bring to Marsh.
“This is a targeted acquisition that is part of a broader plan to steadily grow our business in Australia, organically and through other means, in a way that makes sense for our employees and our clients. I’m confident that our local operations are well placed to stay on the front foot and pursue growth,” Mr Clayton said.
Russell Neville of RJN said that the needs of its customers were at the forefront of the decision to join with the Marsh organisation.
“The move allows us to maintain our client focus and continue to meet their expectations in a hardening and increasingly consolidated insurance market. We stand to benefit from Marsh’s vast array of resources and its reach into the insurance market, whilst maintaining our strong relationships with clients,” Mr Neville said.
RJN was established by Russell Neville in 2001. The company has recorded year-on-year revenue growth since then, with two senior principals and several staff joining the firm. Many of RJN’s clients are in the mining, oil & gas, bio-medical, manufacturing and engineering industries.
